8/14~Jr Miss & Pre-Teen Idaho International Pageant, Nampa Idaho Melanie was Mistress of Ceremonies. Ava won Little Miss and Keelyn won Pre-Teen.
8/14~Nampa Family Justice Center Walk, Nampa, Idaho Melanie participated with 2009 Cassidy & Courtney Teen and Miss Idaho International in the walk that raised awareness for victims of domestic violence and child abuse.

8/15~“Women of Inspiration Night” at ARCO Arena, Sacramento Misty May-Treanor (back-to-back Olympic Beach Volleyball Gold Champion) will be the featured headline guest at the Monarchs 2009 “Women of Inspiration Night”. Gold Cal Jrs. VBC Club attended the event in anticipation of Misty’s motivational presentation. The club will also enjoy a rivalry basketball game between the Sacramento Monarchs and the Los Angeles Sparks.After the game, Kara Lawson spoke with the families of Gold Cal Jrs sharing her experiences. Kara was gracious to stay for a photo op.

7/4~4th of July Parade, Sun Valley, Idaho Melanie and her family celebrated our great country’s independence in the Hailey Chamber of Commerece 2009 July 4th Parade. The Declaration of Independence, unanimously declared by the thirteen United States of America, was adopted by the Continental Congress in Philadelphia on July 4, 1776.
All 4 generations will be attending the Mrs. International competition. Melanie's grandmother
won a beauty contest at age 18 months with the

6/18~Boise State University visit to the Bronco Stadium Center Field Melanie and Courtney Conner, Miss Idaho International had an opportunity to talk with staff at the Home of the Broncos Stadium for Boise State University. The largest institution of higher learning with over 19, 500 students in Idaho celebrated its 75th anniversary in 2007.

6/30~Picture PTA Contest Melanie submitted pictures sharing accomplishments and favorite moments with compelling images relevant to 2 of the following key topics, Fundraising, Health and Safety, Membership; Parent, Teachers, and Principals Working Together, Student Achievement, Diversity, and General Interest. The winner of the contest will receive a $50 gift card and national recognition and the winning pictures may be used on PTA org or in PTA’s magazine, Our children.

5/31~Salute to AVG Flying Tigers, Nampa, Idaho Melanie participated in one of the largest gatherings of P-40's in the world since WWII at the Warhawk Air Museum. Jeffrey flew his SNJ-4 WWII Trainer, the Evil Monkey in support of maintaining historical significance.
4/18-4/20~Far Westerns Tournament in Reno, Nevada Melanie cheered on her daughter, Emily, as she competed at a USA National Volleyball Qualifying Tournament.
4/20-4/22~Photo Shoot & Trunk Show in Dothan, Alabama Melanie traveled to Dothan, Alabama to work with the Competitive Image, Clay Spann, Joey Retherford and the Mrs. International family.
